"St. Luke's Knights of Columbus Dave Kacprowicz sent in a photo of the St. Michael the Archangel Round table in Afghanistan sponsored by our own Msgr. Robert D. Goodill Council here at St. Luke's. The priest there, a Father O'Brien, had just finished Mass and was still in his camouflage vestments. Of course, the other soldiers were in camouflage uniforms as well. I remember back in 1991 during the Gulf War, Ret. Erie Deputy Fire Chief, Bill Vahey, was in the Coast Guard Reserve and was called to active duty in the Gulf. Bill sent me a set of camouflage vestments that was used over there, and I still have it. I wore the set several times back in 1991 just to show some solidarity with the troops over there. My nephew was in the Gulf at that time too. Congratulations to our St. Luke's K of C for their outreach to our nations military." |
